HOOPERCISE® is committed to “PLAYING FOR HEALTH”™.
HOOPERCISE® is an awesome hour-long, low-impact exercise in disguise dance for fitness routine that truly releases your inner child and gives it permission to come out and play in a fun and encouraging environment. HOOPERCISE® utilizes a variety of music and detailed instruction to inspire you to dance with your hoop while learning how to manipulate it up and down your body. The use of our HOOPINI® COMFORT FITNESS HOOPS® assures success in execution of those moves. It’s the laughter we’re after. The health benefits come , but are secondary.
WHO CAN HOOP
We are finding that our HOOPINI® COMFORT FTNESS HOOPS® are meeting the needs of folks with excess weight, fibromyalga, arthritis in their back, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, scoliosis, post bariatric surgery, weak back and abdominal muscles, special needs such as birth defects. But, overall it’s mostly people that want to strengthen their core or just have a fun time out with friends. Our Hoopini’s® also make the best dance partner, it doesn’t step on your toes, you can lead, and it doesn’t ask for your phone number at the end of the night.
Previous hoopin’ experience is not necessary and because of our hoop design, everyone is a success story. We have “never hooped before” hoopers (we call them pre-hoopers) in every class and it’s such a blessing to be there to see the look in their face when they “connect” with the hoop. We call that connection “HOOPFORIA”™. HOOPERCISE® classes cross the generation gap and all have fun. Our class ages range from 84 to 3 years old. There are not too many activities where you find grandma, her kids, and her grandkids, both male and female doing it together. You’re never too old to start. Alice, 94 and her sister Ardy, 87, no longer hoopin’ virgins, of Traverse City love their Hoopini® and hoop most everyday.
HEALTH BENEFITS
You can burn up to 600 calories an hour by hoopin’ and lose up to 2” and 4 pounds a month if you need to by hoopin’ 10 minutes a day. I think that research is a little conservative and should be more like 20 minutes a day.
There are so many more benefits of hoopin’ besides the inch and weight loss. There’s the increased flexibility, stamina, balance, coordination, cardio work out, and core strength. Hoopin’ is a known stress reliever. It’s no wonder because we laugh so much during the HOOPERCISE® routine. After I had been hoopin’ for about 2 months, my chiropractor said that I was easier to adjust. I had been going to him for 13 months prior when he made that statement.
